We've talked a lot this year about TiVo's renaissance. With the company finally getting some cash from its patent portfolio, they're free to try to catch up with the rest of the DVR world. Kudos to Google for doing what needs to be done. Here at The Solid Signal Blog we are ardent supporters of free speech, but there are some images that are not protected by the First Amendment to the US Constitution, because they are universally objectionable. On the internet though, once an image gets out in the wild it's very hard to pull it back in.

Unfortunately, we're talking about pornographic images of children here. For years, predators have hid behind the internet's walls and traded images that do nothing but show the worst of our society.

What you see there is the screen of Comcast's new X2 DVR. This thing is flat out amazing. It does everything for you. It does your laundry for you. Well, maybe it doesn't do your laundry for you. But what it does do is everything a modern DVR does, plus it will store your recordings in the cloud so that if the hardware goes down, you're still ok.

And let's be honest, those menus look fabulous. Super-contemporary and slick. Who wouldn't want that? There's just one little problem.
