Netflix: September and Beyond

A new documentary heads up Netflix’s exciting September releases, as the streaming service is planning even more original content in 2017.

Earlier this year, Netflix announced its $6 billion commitment to original content. The success of its many popular movies, series, and documentaries illustrates the wisdom in this decision. September is going to be an exciting month on Netflix. A riveting short documentary leads roster filled with great shows. What’s more, Netflix has announced even more original programming slated for 2017. If you’re looking for entertaining original content in all forms, Netflix is your streaming service.

Extremis
Netflix is carving out a niche for itself as a creator of powerful documentary films. On September 13, the streaming service debuts Extremis, which is sure to be a powerful short documentary. Set in Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, Extremis follows doctors, families, and patients who are facing difficult end-of-life decisions. The film is directed by Dan Krauss, director of award-winning documentaries The Death of Kevin Carter and Kill Team.

The White Rabbit Project
MythBusters’ M6 Build Team are getting their own show for later this early or early 2017. The show’s concept has been described as “MythBusters in Wonderland,” whatever that means. This spin off from MythBusters stars Tory Belleci, Kari Byron, and Grant Imahara. The White Rabbit Project is sure to attract fans of the popular MythBusters TV series as well as streamers looking for exciting new content.

Narcos, Season 3
Shortly after releasing the second season of its hit series Narcos, Netflix has announced a third season of the popular series. Set to debut sometime next year, it appears that the third season picks up after the death of Medellin Cartel leader Pablo Escobar. The third season’s tagline, “The Blow Must Go On,” clearly indicates that Columbia’s cocaine trade continues to thrive after Escobar.

Stream On!
Mrs. Buckler and I love streaming and we love our Netflix subscription. Think about it. No commercials, no need for babysitters, and no high tickets prices. And we can always pause what’s playing to get more popcorn. Our only problem is deciding which program to watch out of so many great choices.
