Where can you get the highest quality pay-per-view movies?

There’s one hands down winner. The best 4K pay-per-view comes from the satellite! If you’re looking for the absolute best quality, you won’t get much better than the 4K movies available now on DIRECTV.

DIRECTV’s pay-per-view movies, whether delivered by satellite or internet, are always the highest quality. They’re designed that way. Streaming 4K programs are compressed until they work for most people’s internet speeds, and if you’re thinking about getting 4K from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, or someone else, you can’t even guarantee that they’ll be giving you a real 4K experience. In order to get 4K from those guys, you’ll need a perfect internet connection. How many times does that happen?

Now I do need to give some disclaimers here. DIRECTV 4K isn’t “the absolute best experience.” The absolute best experience, as Solid Signal fans like frequent commenter Alan Gordon will tell you, is Ultra HD Blu-ray. Of course, that assumes you’ve made the commitment to buy one of the players and you’ve bought the discs, since you can’t get them from Netflix or Redbox. DIRECTV also uses an older compression scheme, so you can’t say DIRECTV’s quality is better just because it’s pushing more ones and zeroes down the pipe. It’s also true that DIRECTV 4K pay-per-view is more expensive. But ok, I’ve said that.

The truth is, though, that objective tests show over and over that DIRECTV’s 4K programs are clearer and sharper than the 4K programs you get from other providers. You get 7.1 sound, too, for an experience that sounds as good as it looks. If you’re looking for the best possible experience from a new 4K TV, you really don’t need to go any further than DIRECTV and its 4K system.
