BREAKING: Signal Group wins prestigious DIRECTV Dealer of the Year

Time to blow our own horns for a bit. Every year, DIRECTV holds its Revolution dealer expo. Of course, it’s been virtual since 2020, but they promise a triumphant return to in-person attendance next year. But, that’s next year. Let’s talk about this year.

There’s a lot of private stuff going on at the Revolution show. A lot of future-y, hush hush stuff. Chances are you’ll find out more about that on some of the less scrupulous web sites. But, here’s what I’m able to say: DIRECTV is BACK. Not just streaming, either. DIRECTV Satellite is back in a big way. Folks in homes and apartments may have changed their habits a bit, but let me tell you something. Businesses have always believed in DIRECTV, even when DIRECTV didn’t seem to believe in them. Back in the AT&T days, businesses didn’t get the attention they deserved. Since DIRECTV became independent, that’s all changed. The biggest and most obvious change has been the release of new commercial receivers for the first time in a decade. There have been a lot of other, behind-the-scenes changes too. Changes that put a focus on not only the businesses at the heart of DIRECTV’s customer base but also at the independent dealers who have always taken care of those businesses.

The focus is back where it needs to be

DIRECTV’s dealer base has thinned out a lot in the last few years, but the commercial group has become even more tightly knit. That’s given a few key dealers the opportunity to really stand out. At this year’s Revolution dealer expo, that’s incredibly obvious.

In an online-only event held on August 23, DIRECTV announced its Dealers of the Year. Of course I’ll give a lot of respect for those dealers who serve freestanding homes, apartments, and hotels more than other “verticals.” This article isn’t about them. It’s about us.

For the first time, Signal Group, the parent of this blog, has been given the prestigious National Commercial Dealer of the Year award. It’s the kind of recognition we really like.
