Still no NFL

Yes it’s true that there is still no NFL football in 4K this year. To be honest I couldn’t tell you why. I know there is 4K equipment in many stadiums, but the broadcasts just aren’t happening. It’s not looking good for a 4K super bowl either. Honestly I think if it were going to happen, you would have heard about it by now.

Are you 4K ready?

A lot of people got 4K TVs last year for the holidays and I’m betting that a lot of folks are going to get them this year as well. Just having a 4K TV doesn’t guarantee you 4K service, though. You’ll need the right equipment from AT&T, and you can get everything you need at Solid Signal.

Dish upgrade

If you have an existing HD dish, it’s very easy to replace the front part with a new 4K LNB. This is an easy replacement for the one on your dish especially if you have one wire coming down from the dish to the house. Just install it and reboot your receivers. They should automatically sense the new setup.

Equipment upgrade

You’ll need an HR54 Genie or HS17 Genie 2 in order to receive the new signals. You’ll also need to be able to show them on that 4K TV and for that you’ll need a C61K 4K Genie Mini Client. If you have an existing Genie system these are going to be very easy upgrades indeed. All you do is disconnect one and connect the other.

Dealing with much older equipment?

Even though the Genie system has been the go-to default system for new installs since 2012, there are still people out there with much older systems. This comprehensive guide will take you through the process of upgrading your home to the latest and greatest. It’s filled with suggested parts lists, diagrams, and explanations. If that seems like too much for you, our experts at Solid Signal can help you get an installer on site to take care of everything.

Why delay?

Even if you don’t have a 4K system today, you’re going to go there eventually. That’s just where it’s all going. All new installations today are getting DIRECTV-capable hardware and you should be thinking in that direction. If you don’t know where to start, luckily the experts at Solid Signal are here for you. One call to 888-233-7563 will get you the help you need. Our staff can find any discounts you may qualify for, get the parts together for you and ship them straight to your door. We’re here to make your 4K transition easy… so why wait?
