The Solid Signal Blog turns 15 in 2022 and we’re just getting started! You might have noticed some changes around here, and it’s all about making the experience better for you.
The stuff you can’t see
Our blog has once again migrated to the newest and fastest platform. This is the sixth server move for us, and every time we just get better and better. The new system scales up to meet demand, so don’t expect anymore slowdowns when someone links to us from Reddit. It’s faster than ever and it shows.
We’ve also made a number of back end changes to improve our “Core Web Vitals” score. Core Web Vitals is Google’s newest way of determining how dependable a web site is. It’s all about speed, lack of errors when loading, and security. We always ranked high, but with some minor changes we were able to rank in the top 10% of all web sites in terms of Core Web Vitals.
One of those changes includes moving up to the latest and most secure versions of the software behind the blog, and once again we’re back on the cutting edge.

If you’re reading this on the desktop, you might have noticed that our Archives section is back. It had to come down back in January as it was causing just too much stress on the previous server. But, I knew it was popular. One of the goals has been to bring it back to you. That way you can look at articles from our previous 15 years easily. If you haven’t tried it, try it out now!
We’ve also completely revamped the contact form at the bottom of many pages. No, it doesn’t look like much. But, the new upgraded system lets our staff get your messages faster and more consistently. This means you’ll get a call back from the right person, with the right information, faster than ever.
You ain’t seen nothin’ yet
Because this blog is on the popular WordPress platform, we’re able to make constant changes to the way things look and feel. In the coming months and years, we’ll be continuing to add features, improve the overall look of things, and bring you the stuff you need to know!
