fuboTV Updates and More

When it comes to streaming updates, we don’t always often report on fuboTV. This is because I don’t have this streaming service. fuboTV mainly focuses on distributing live sports, such as NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS and international soccer. Frankly, I’m just not into most mainstream sports, which is why fuboTV wasn’t my first choice as streaming service provider. Nevertheless, fuboTV is a player in the streaming world, and it’s recent updates are noteworthy. So, to assuage my guilt over largely ignoring this provider, this week’s Streaming Saturday is dedicated to fuboTV.

Before we go any further, I think this fuboTV commercial is a little odd…

fuboTV Adds AMC Networks

On Thursday, fuboTV added AMC Networks to its streaming lineup. The addition happened two weeks after fuboTV announced the deal to add AMC. This gives fuboTV subscribers access to AMC Networks content through video-on-demand. It also allows viewers to log into AMC Networks’ TV Everywhere apps and websites.

Here’s more good news for fuboTV subscribers: the network has launched its “Startover” feature in Beta. This lets viewers who tune in late for a game to catch up from the beginning. Currently, Startover is avaialbe on select channels, and fuboTV promises that more channels will be added to its roster. Startover is currently available on the Android app, as well as iOS, web, and Apple TV.

In addition to AMC Networks, fuboTV also has BBC Amercia, Sundance, IFC, and WE tv.

fuboTV Rolls Out Roku Update

Recently, fuboTV updated its Roku Channel. The improvements for Roku users include a new EPG with seven-day lookahead. It also offers dedicated network pages to find shows and video-on-demand content. Here are some of the other key features on fuboTV’s Roku channel:

  • The ability to watch VOD content from where you left off
  • Updated network pages
  • A “What’s New” card that offers a tutorial of new features each time the app gets upgraded

These improvements should be great news for everyone who enjoys fuboTV on Roku.

fuboTV Offers 60fps on 41 Channels

When chnoosing a streaming service provider, are frames per second, or fps, important to you? It is for many viewers, which is why fuboTV is offering more than 40 channels in 60fps. In a nutshell, fps measures how many times the image is refreshed on the screen. The 60fps being offered on many fuboTV channels is twice as fast as the 30fps on most TV shows. This will be a great match for fuboTV’s sports coverage.

Okay, I admit that fuboTV just isn’t for me. But, like my wife is fond of saying, this isn’t about me. With all its recent updates, and a unique marketing campaign, fuboTV is a player in the streaming world. Many viewers enjoy this provider’s services, which keep improving with each update and announcement. I promise to keep a closer eye on fuboTV in future streaming coverage.
