Who Cares About Stranger Things, Season 4?

Stranger Things? What’s that? Just kidding, it hasn’t been THAT long since I discussed this Netflix original.

Remember when I was a Stranger Things fanboy? LOL It seems like forever since I’ve blogged about that show. More than a year ago, I tried my best to decode the Duffer brothers’ Russian prison trailer. We didn’t get much from them since then, and it’s no wonder why. Then, out of nowhere, the Duffer brothers have teased us again. This is the first time I’ve it because I’m always late to the party. (Just ask Stuart Sweet.) For the sake of this post, let’s take a (another) peek at the Stranger Things season four trailer:

What’s This All About?

This trailer is quite different than the one I wrote about on February 22, 2020. This time around, the Duffers take us back in time when Eleven was still under “Papa’s” control. At least that’s the way it looks to me. I’m pretty sure this is backstory, though. If you remember from last year, season four’s tagline is “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” How can that be if we’re revisiting Eleven’s past at the government facility in Hawkins?

Well, that’s where my theory comes in…

…These flashback sequences will show us how Eleven is able to mentally locate Hopper. As we know, the former bumbling sheriff’s deputy is now a prisoner of the then-Soviet Union. I predict that rescuing him will be a big part of the plotline. The Upside Down – and its cast of creepy creatures – will probably factor into the equation, too. I mean, it’s Stranger Things, after all.

The Thing is, Do I Even Care?

We all know I used to love Stranger Things. I geeked out on every little teaser trailer, and I even started to wish they’d bring New Coke back. (I know, right?) Then, something strange happened, no pun intended. The events in the world put season four on hold, and somewhere along the line, I lost interest. What can I say? There were many other things to stream, and those shows filled the niche left by Stranger Things.

Now that Stranger Things is back on my radar, do I care enough to stream it? (Those kids are practically grown up now!) If I’m talking tough with the guys at the water cooler, I’d say, “That silly show? No way!” But if I’m being honest, I’m started to feel that “Stranger Things excitement” again. Fans of this series know what I’m talking about. It’s an almost indescribable exhilaration that fills you when your favorite show is coming. So…

I’ll be Streaming Season 4

You probably saw that one coming, right? I know I did. And how could I not? I ended up crying during Friends: The Reunion, just like I suspected I would. Cried like a baby, actually. So, there you have it.
