NEW VIDEO: Does the weBoost Drive Sleek work?

TOPICS:

Does it work? I put the weBoost Drive Sleek through its paces and recorded the results. Here’s what I did:

I totally ignored the owner’s manual and installation instructions. The Drive Sleek comes with stickers on each part, as well as a sticker on the packaging itself, that is supposed to be all you need. So I followed the instructions on the sticker.

The Drive Sleek installed easily, although I didn’t bother snaking it under interior panels or anything. If this had been a permanent installation, I would have.

I then used an AT&T Prepaid phone running Android 5.1.1 to measure the signal. I used a free app called “Signal Strength.” Why did I go through the trouble of all that? Well first of all the app gives you a really nice visual display instead of just looking at numbers.

More importantly, I totally lost the ability to accurately measure signal on my iPhone, and you did too. The latest software update takes away the friendly signal meter hidden deep in the phone’s test mode and replaces it with bars which you could read pretty much any way you wanted.

What did I find? You’ll just have to watch the video to find out, but if you’ve been reading this blog a while you know I tend to report good news whenever I can.
