What accessories are available for the Solid Signal Rover Duo?

Solid Signal’s Rover Duo RV and Rover Duo OTR give the perfect combination of value and power. By giving you one high-powered amplifier and two different sets of antennas and accessories, you get two cell phone signal boosters for the price of one. Connect the antennas for a permanent installation in two vehicles, and take the amplifier with you to whichever vehicle you’re going to! It’s such a smart idea you’ll wonder why no one has done it easier. But, you might not know which kit to get. The Rover Duo RV is designed for one personal vehicle and one RV, while the Rover Duo OTR is designed for fleet drivers to use at work and at home.

What if neither kit is a perfect fit?

The best news here is that you can get additional accessories for the Rover Duo series. They will let you use the Rover Duo in a third vehicle, or help you use it in cases where the kits we have aren’t exactly perfect for your needs. For convenience, here’s a list of the most common accessory items for the Rover Duo series. All of them are made by Wilson Electronics, the parent company of weBoost.

For example, you may want an extra outdoor and indoor antenna for your car, plus an extra car power cord. This would let you use the same amplifier with 3 vehicles. You might want to use the OTR antenna on your RV, because it’s a more stable installation. You might want a second indoor antenna and power cord so that you can choose whether to use the booster in the cab or back in the sleeping compartment. The choices are limitless.

Why can’t you just sell a kit with exactly what I want?

There’s a great question. FCC rules wont’ let us. They’re pretty strict on two points, and both points make it hard for us to sell you the exact kit you need.

The first rule says, when you sell a booster system, it must come with everything you need to install it. It can come with more stuff than you need, but at the minimum it has to come with the stuff you need. For example, it has to come with all the antennas. It has to come with all the cables. That sort of thing.

The second rule says, if you’re going to have a new kit, it has to be approved by the FCC so they can be sure you’re following the first rule.

What this ends up meaning for you is… we can sell you a kit and then sell you something extra like another antenna. But we can’t really make a new kit without the stuff in our existing kits. If we did we’d have to put it in for FCC approval. That could take a year or more. No one wants to wait that long.
