April is Antenna-Thon at Solid Signal!

TOPICS:

If you’re a member of our email list, you already know this. If not, you should sign up today for all the great deals we offer. (But we’ll get to that later.) Right now, we’re going to talk about Antenna-Thon and what that means to us at Solid Signal. We’re also going to discuss what Antenna-Thon means for YOU! So, read on about the special “holiday” created for you by your friends at Solid Signal.

What is Antenna-Thon?

At its most basic, it’s the month where Solid Signal offers deep discounts on all the TV antennas we carry. That’s a lot of antennas! Seriously. Have you ever searched our online inventory? You’ll find a ton of indoor and outdoor antennas from the biggest names in electronic products. We even have our own in-house TV antenna line.

So, like I said above, Antenna-Thon is a great opportunity for you to save on a TV antenna. That means there’s no better time to cut the cord than right now. If you know what you need and want to save big, just go to our Antenna-Thon page and place your order. If you’d like to learn more about antennas and cord-cutting, keep reading.

TV Antenna Education

At Solid Signal, Antenna-Thon is much more than a sale. It also gives us an opportunity to educate new and would-be cord-cutters. Granted, we do that everyday here on the blog, but there’s nothing wrong with placing an emphasis on it. The cost of cable isn’t going down. This means more people want free TV. Solid Signal is the place where these folks get the answers they need.

Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we get from people interested in cutting the cord:

Q: Do I need an indoor or outdoor antenna?

A: That depends on how far you live from the local TV transmitters. As a general rule, if those towers are 30 miles away or less, an indoor antenna is usually enough.

Q: What’s the difference between UHF and VHF?

A: VHF stands for “very high frequency” and refers to channels 2-13. UHF, aka “ultra high frequency” and represents channels 14-36.

Q: Is it easy to install an outdoor TV antenna?

A: If we’re talking about on your roof, porch, or balcony, the answer is usually yes. Solid Signal offers a variety of tutorials to help you get the job done.

Q: What else do I need to cut the cord?

A: Every installation is different. That said, you’ll definitely need some type of antenna mount, cable, and a receiver. You might also need an antenna amplifier, splitters, and other equipment. Fortunately, Solid Signal carries all these products. Our reps can also advise you on what you need.

Q: Where can I get more information about TV antennas?

A: Glad you asked. This tutorial is a good place to start for the basics. If you need more info, we’ve made finding all of our downloadable tutorials easy by placing them in one convenient location.

These are just some of the many questions we answer on the Solid Signal blog, tutorials, and our Support from Solid Signal Facebook page.
