I’ve been living the online life for, gosh, about 20 years now. Here’s one thing I’ve learned, and it’s been the same in every organization I’ve been a part of.
One bad review can ruin your whole day.
Yes, it can. Sadly, we all know that people can be really brutal on the internet. There’s something about leaving a flaming review when no one knows who you are. It’s so appealing to some people, and there’s nothing that we as a society can do to change it.
We do our best to take care of our customers and we know that an awful lot of you leave satisfied. We have one of the best returning customer rates in the business, and we know that it’s important to earn every sale.
We would love to say that just earning your business is all we need. Unfortunately we get sidetracked when people go on review sites and badmouth us for sport. We’d like to be able to please everyone, and when we don’t, we usually have meetings talking about how we can improve.
It’s just a fact of life.
The bottom line is that we try to earn every positive review and we hate seeing every negative review. Review sites help people make up their minds about us and we just don’t want people getting the wrong impression.
What makes matters worse is that negative reviews don’t always come from bad experiences. We’ve all seen those reviews from “trolls” who just love to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt. Some of them aren’t even real customers, they just like the power that comes with saying negative things. The only way we can combat them is to let our happy customers tell the real story!
