FUN FRIDAY: Shrek Ragnarok

TOPICS:

To be honest, I didn’t much care for the first two Thor movies. I’m not a massive fan of the comic thunder god anyway, and to me it seemed like the imagery was wrong, the tone was wrong, and just all seemed like a noisy, rainbow-colored waste of time.

Which, of course, is why they had to make a third one.

If I understand it, it takes place on another planet and somehow the Hulk is there and now he can talk. I’m not sure how he got upgraded that way but maybe they’ll tell you. Chances are it happened in some comic book I haven’t read. But whatever, it’s another comic book movie.

As if to show that in one way or another, all these franchise films are the same, someone with way too much time on their hands intercut footage from the four Shrek movies into the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok (yes, that’s what they’re caling it.) The funny thing is how well it works.

I mean, you have about 8 hours of Shrek-y stuff to pull from in order to find two minutes of useful stuff, but it’s still pretty impressive. The video’s creator even faithfully duplicated the titles from the trailer.

A big plus is that nowhere in this ogre-fied trailer will you find Jeff Goldblum dressed like he’s auditioning for a part as an extra in The Wizard of Oz. Sadly that isn’t true for the actual trailer, which you can find here if you really must watch it.
