Today’s a special day. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any of the many other December holidays from around the world, it’s still pretty special.
Our offices in Novi, Michigan, are closed today so our team can spend time with their families. All of the shipping companies are closed too. So are our satellite fulfillment sites. It’s one day a year that most of us can sit back and relax. It seems pretty rare in this world that most people can take a moment to kick back. My suggestion to you is to enjoy it whenever you can.
Remember the folks who have to work today
While so many of us are home enjoying good times (and maybe a gift bought from Solid Signal) today, let’s take a moment to be grateful for those people who do work today. From store clerks to first responders, from pharmacists to surgeons, there is a small brigade of people in every town and city who work on holidays. Let’s be glad for them. They keep us safe and they make sure we’re taken care of.
Not everyone is as lucky as our Solid Signal staff so let’s be sure to remember those people who do the hard work today. If you’re one of them, and you’re lucky enough that you have time to read this blog, that’s fantastic. While I’m sorry you have to work at all, I’m glad that things are a little less stressful. Try to take a moment to think of the people who don’t have time to read this article.
And remember those less fortunate
Remember too that even in times of plenty some folks don’t have anything. Throughout the holiday season you’ve had opportunities to donate. Remember that while you’re home in front of the fire, some folks are barely getting by. Even in the best economy there are going to be people who can’t make ends meet.
A lot of places need volunteer help, especially today, and most of them will welcome someone who comes in even with no appointment or anything. So, if you’re bored today, why not go out and do a little volunteer work? I guarantee you’ll feel a lot better when you do.
Our offices will be open tomorrow
