5 tasks for you now that summer’s here

Summer’s here. Now, you might be thinking that the time is right for dancing in the street. That’s true if you’re in Baltimore and DC now (can’t forget the Motor City) but for the rest of us, summertime chores beckon.

Before you settle in with your favorite libation at the beach, think about these five chores that really should be done since the days are longer and the weather is pleasant.

1. Check all your outdoor connections

Winter snows and spring rains can lead to corrosion on connectors. Take a look at every connection point and make sure it doesn’t look like this. You should never see green corrosion on any connector. The cable itself should be free of cracks and blemishes. Now’s the time to make sure everything works well. You don’t want to wait for winter.

2. Inspect that antenna

Whether you use an over-the-air TV antenna, satellite dish, cellular signal booster, or any other form of antenna, it’s time to make sure it doesn’t look like the one you see above (courtesy avforums.com.) Antennas can rust or oxidize depending on what they’re made of. The white plastic radomes can turn yellow and crack. I am not a big fan of painting or repairing these things. They’re inexpensive enough that you should just plan to replace them.

3. Upgrade home internet

The kids are getting out of school and hopefully you’ll never have to hear the words “distance learning” ever again. You’re probably considering at least a part-time return to your office as well. If you’ve been soldiering on with slow internet because you were afraid of a bad upgrade experience, now is the time to do something about it.

Call Signal Connect at 888-233-7563 and we can help you get the internet service you deserve. We’re AT&T Preferred Dealers and even if your area isn’t served by AT&T for internet, we can help you get the best deal by bundling your cell phone service with home internet from most companies. Give it a try and never have to worry about slow internet, especially when you need it.

4. Take on that grounding project you keep putting off

We’re all friends here. We can be honest with each other. I keep telling you to make sure the stuff on your roof is properly grounded. You keep not doing it. I get it. It’s pricey, it’s a pain, you have to figure out what the local ordinances are. And besides you’ve gotten along this well without it so far.

Now’s the time to give yourself a pat on the back for beating the odds. You’ve made it this long without a lightning strike. But why keep tempting fate? It’s time to do the grounding work you promised you would do last year. Just get the information you need and get the parts from Solid Signal.

5. Install a cell booster

You’re on your phone constantly. Sometimes the Wi-Fi is good enough, sometimes it’s not. It’s time to add a cellular signal booster to your home to deal with dead spots. Today’s energy efficient homes are practically designed to keep cell signals out. The service inside your home may be one-quarter as good as the service outside.

Cellular signal boosters take signal from outside, amplify it, and broadcast it inside. They’re just what you need when you have a little more time to spend streaming.

Install a cellular signal booster and everyone in your house will get great cell service. You won’t have to give guests your Wi-Fi password and you won’t have to worry about those parts of the house with bad Wi-Fi.
