Bad cell service still happens. Here’s what you can do about it

There’s a spot in my hometown that has abysmal cell service. (Luckily it’s not where I live.) I mean, so little service that calls drop and data is almost impossible. It’s not just one carrier either. None of the major carriers do terribly well there, despite the fact that two of them actually have stores in those areas. How do they stay in business? There’s a secret, and I’m going to tell you what it is. But first I probably ought to explain a bit more.

Why bad cell service happens

Bad cell service happens for one of two reasons. The first is natural and there isn’t a lot you can do. There’s a spot on Interstate 15 in Utah where you’re driving through a canyon. The walls of the canyon are just wide enough for a freeway to pass. There’s no room for a cell tower. It’s an incredibly beautiful canyon but let’s be honest, the cell service stinks. There are going to be places like that where nature sees fit to block cell signals. It’s really not going to be possible to fix that.

On the other hand, the other reason is caused by us, by humanity. Maybe it’s economical, like the cell companies just don’t see enough reason to get towers there. Maybe it’s legal, like it is in my town. In my town, the area I’m talking about used to be on county-owned land. That meant building cell towers there was harder than it would have been otherwise. It was also more expensive. That area’s city-owned now, but the cell companies haven’t noticed yet, I guess. Cell signal is still really horrid there. And since it’s a spot I pass through a couple times a week, it gets on my nerves. Suddenly Spotify won’t play. Texts I send (hands-free of course) don’t go through. Calls drop. It’s like all of a sudden I’m back in 1982, and that doesn’t make me very happy.

Here’s what you can do about it

Remember how I told you that there are two cell phone stores in that nearly dead zone? Remember how I said there’s a way around that? There is, and the technology is open to everyone. Both stores have cell phone signal booster systems in place. They put antennas up high enough to reach distant cell towers, and the signal in the store is just awesome. The poor folks who buy there lose signal after they walk out the door, but it comes back once they leave the area.

You can have that sort of magic power too. Whether you’re at home, in a vehicle, or in a business, there’s a cell phone signal booster that will give you better signal. After I put one in my car I stopped worrying about poor signal in that cursed area. It just wasn’t an issue.

That’s the really cool thing about cell phone signal boosters. They just work. You put the outdoor antenna up as high as you can. You run a cable inside to the amplifier, and another cable to the indoor antenna. Turn it on, and you’re set. It’s true in a small space and a giant one too. Big spaces like massive warehouses and malls benefit just as much as tiny spaces like compact cars.

Cell boosters work with all national carriers on LTE and nationwide 5G. They cost less than the latest iPhone or Android, and they’re designed to outlast the next three phones you get. They work with all the latest devices and they’re futureproof.

Sound too good to be true? It’s not
