Want to tailgate with DISH? Don’t choose a tripod

What’s better than a tailgate party? Fire up the barbecue, put on some TV and watch people find you! It’s a perfect way to make new friends. A lot of folks with DISH don’t want to tailgate, they tell me, because setting up the dish is a pain. You have to put the thing up on a tripod and spend time aiming it “just so.” That can really kill the buzz you get from being in the stadium parking lot. I hear you.

There’s a better option.

This is the Tailgater from KING. Even the name tells you that it’s the right thing for you. It’s a 100% DISH approved, self-aiming product that will give you HD programming when you hook up a Wally receiver to it. (Need a Wally? Get one here.) It’s really what you want.

Start by setting the Tailgater on a level patch of ground with a view of the western sky. If you need to put it on the roof, that’s fine. Then connect up a cable to your Wally and to a source of power. (Need cable? Get it here.) Power everything up, sit and wait a minute or two. Really, that’s all you need to do. The dish automatically aims itself and when it’s done, you’re ready to watch live TV.

There has to be a catch, right?

Not really. The only thing you should know is that in some cases channel changes might take a little more time. DISH uses multiple satellites and this device can only point at one at a time. So if the channel you’re looking for is on a different satellite, it’s going to take a little while. Usually it’s under 30 seconds, and that’s not a big deal since most of the time you’ll be setting the thing down and leaving the game on.

Why you should get the Tailgater from Solid Signal

OK, I know, this is a retail product. You can probably go to a store near you and buy it. Or, you can order it from other web sites at the same price. You’ll pay the same no matter where you go, that’s just the way it’s set up.

But, when you order from Solid Signal, you know you have the power of our amazing tech support operation behind you. If you need to activate a new receiver, we’ll do it faster and easier than anyone else. If you think there’s a problem, chances are we can get you back on track quickly. Buying something like this from another retailer means you really have no one to talk to if the thing isn’t working right. (It’s rare but it does happen.) It’s better to start by working with the experts, am I right?
