CES2016: La Crosse Booth Tour (and some thoughts)

TOPICS:

Day 1 of CES has come and gone and as usual the blog team found itself embroiled in all sorts of shenanigans that kept us from visiting the Central Hall, which is where all the big TVs and such are stored. On the other hand we took the opportunity to visit with several our our Solid Signal vendors and came away with quite a lot of new information that we’ll be posting over the next few days.

First off it was time to say hi to our good friends at La Crosse, makers of quality weather measurement equipment. I’ll admit that until I got to know La Crosse, I was one of those guys who thought, why bother with a standalone weather station since I have a smartphone. But remember, the phone doesn’t tell you what the weather is right where you are. If you’re the kind of person who really treasures accurate information you are going to need to measure it for yourself.

As you can see from the images above, La Crosse came to play this year. There were close to 25 different weather stations featured and that includes two new players that are coming to Solid Signal very soon.

The top new product was this new professional weather station. Look at this bad boy – it’s top of the line. Full color display, rainfall, wind, humidity… the works. It’s coming at a very exciting price as well, but that’s going to have to wait until it’s officially released at Solid Signal in the next few weeks.

It may not look like much but I’m actually very excited about this other weather station as well. It’s one of the few stations that includes wind and wind chill tracking but with a fully reflective display. This means longer battery life and also it won’t shine a light in the room at night. I personally asked La Crosse for a product like this and I’ll be honest, I’m very impressed that they delivered. This should be an excellent product at a very attractive price.

Of course, we’ll be featuring these two products as well as the entire La Crosse line at SolidSignal.com.
