DIRECTV brings 4K Olympics like crazy

If you’re looking for the best Olympics coverage, AT&T wants you to know that there’s only one place to get it — DIRECTV. The satellite service is rolling out more 4K and HDR coverage than anyone else, and if you don’t believe me, take a look at this PDF. While it’s not very pretty, it shows you a massive amount of 4K content.

All the good stuff is on DIRECTV channel 106, and there’s also a dedicated Olympics Mix channel that lets you see what’s going on with all of the action on the four NBC/Universal channels that will be covering the games.

Fact is, it’s probably too late to get a 4K install from DIRECTV in time to get the Olympics, but if you don’t want to miss out next time, here’s what you’ll need from Solid Signal:

• HR54 or Genie 2 DVR

• C61K 4K Genie Mini Client

• Reverse Band 3 dish
