THROWBACK THURSDAY: Funny old web pages

It’s not just us. Yeah, SolidSignal.com looked pretty goofy in 2002, as you can see here, but let’s be honest, a lot of other very well funded sites looked pretty bad too. Take a look at the 1.0 version of Tumblr:

In fact, every web site in the world started looking pretty goofy, at least if it started in the 1990s or early 2000s. If you start going through archive.org you’ll find a lot of really funny old stuff, or if you’re just looking for a quick view, check out this post on digg that makes fun of several prominent sites, including digg.com. All I can say is that I’m glad that most of the web work I did back then wasn’t archived at archive.org, because honestly it’s pretty heinous by today’s standards. My work was considered pretty good at the time but oh…. my.
