Get high-quality tools at Solid Signal

TOPICS:

Way back when, it was easy to find tools that would hold up. There were local hardware stores with people you could actually talk to. There were national chains that offered lifetime replacement for their tools. People bought tools for a lifetime of use, and more often than not those tools even outlived them. Some of my best tools came from folks who have passed away, and I think of them whenever I use one of their tools.

Today, if you go to a home store or shop online, you’ll find a lot of cheaply made tools. It’s just the way things are today. People don’t keep tools for a lifetime anymore, do they? It’s hard to do it when the tool you spend a lot of money on today begins to wear out after a few years.

Cheap tools have their place. If you’re not serious about repairing things, if you need a tool that you’ll use once or even once a year, cheap tools will work great. But what if you’re really serious?

Here’s one example

Take a look at the soldering iron you see at the top of this article. It’s for serious soldering. And friends, when I’m not writing this blog, sometimes I do some serious soldering. I had a soldering iron that looked a lot like this one, probably built in the 1960s. I used it until it wore out. Then, I started to buy other soldering irons, ones made for “precision” or ones saying they were safer. None of them was terribly expensive. But none of them lasted very long when I wanted to work with serious wiring.

When you want a tool that will work, you have to spend a little more. This Weller soldering iron will hold up long after the cheap ones are burned out. It will also give you 300 watts of power for real, serious jobs.

This is the kind of tool you’ll find at Solid Signal. Our selection of hand tools gives you confidence. It’s hard to tell a good tool from a bad one, even if you’re looking at it face on. Often times you rely on a brand you know, or look for a higher-priced tool. Sometimes you look at where the tool is built. You can shop at Solid Signal knowing that the tools we offer are the ones real installation professionals need. You can’t have a wrench break while you’re on a job site. When you work with Solid Signal’s tools, you won’t.
