HEY BAR OWNERS: Time to replace that broken DIRECTV receiver

There’s a restaurant a couple of miles away from me. I’m not going to tell you its name because I don’t want to get it in trouble. I will tell you that if you’d looked at it, you’d think it was a factory, ’nuff said.

Behind the host stand there’s a large A/V rack. It looks like it hasn’t been changed much since the restaurant opened in the mid-’00s. There’s a stack of H21 receivers there. H21, you say? You might not even remember the H21. It looked like this:

You can’t tell from the picture but it’s about 15 inches wide. We used to call that “home theater width.” In other words, it’s a pretty big piece of equipment. Not that it’s a bad piece of equipment, but if you have one at this point it’s pretty old. They stopped making them in about 2008 or so.

Three or four of the receivers in that rack have a haphazard piece of masking tape on them that say “don’t use” or “broken” or something like that. Not a big surprise because the receivers are pretty darn old.

Does your bar or restaurant have a rack like that?

I certainly understand if you’ve been holding off on replacing broken DIRECTV receivers. After all, if you have a broken receiver, chances are it will be replaced by another one of similar vintage. Until last year, DIRECTV was simply recycling old H24 and H25 receivers over and over again and putting them in commercial environments. Last year they rolled out the H44, but it didn’t really offer any benefits over the old models, other than not being old.

That’s all changed.

Your bar or restaurant deserves the new H26K Commercial Receiver.

This is the smallest standalone DIRECTV receiver yet– even smaller than an H25. Every one on the market today is going to be brand new, because it hasn’t been around long enough to have refurbished ones yet. And, it gets DIRECTV’s 4K programming. That’s a must for sports, right? It’s what you’ve been waiting for.

There’s so much to love about this receiver. Start with the fact that it actually works. Can you say that about the ones in your equipment rack? All of them? Really? Then add 4K and blazing speed, plus backwards compatibility with your existing TVs and matrix switches. What’s not to like?

The place to get your H26K

If you haven’t had a visit from your DIRECTV dealer in a while, here’s a sobering fact. They might not be in business anymore. In the mid-00s, AT&T (who owned DIRECTV at the time) swept away a lot of underperforming dealers rather than spend time supporting them. The company that put in your rack might not be around as a result.

You can get your brand new H26K receiver online from Solid Signal. We’re DIRECTV for Business dealers and we can get it activated for you over the phone. Chances are you’ll be able to simply disconnect the cables from your broken receiver and put these in its place. We’ll help you with the DIRECTV account stuff and you can do the rest without having to hire an installer. That’s the way to go, right?
