Introducing the WilsonPro Rapid Deploy Kit

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.  —Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

That quote from one of the most memorable teen movies of the 1980s has never been more true today. Today we have problems that our 1980s selves could never have imagined. Weather-related disasters, medical problems, and other surprises have us moving even  faster than we could imagine. Luckily, technology is there to help.

The Rapid Deploy Kit

The latest tool for fast-moving first-responders is the WilsonPro 1000C Commercial Cellular Amplifier Rapid Deploy Kit. I know that’s its official name. I personally like calling it a “booster in a box.”

The Rapid Deploy kit has everything you need to install a cell booster in a temporary location, all in… well… a box. Don’t believe me? Here’s a picture of the box.

Inside the box you’ll find everything you need to install a cell booster. Again, pictures speak louder than words, so:

You get the awesome WilsonPro 1000C amplifier, inside and outside antennas, two lengths of cable, two tripod mounts, a power cord and power strip. This should be everything you need to install a cell booster quickly and easily.

While you can’t use a cell booster completely outdoors, you can install this in temporary buildings or even in trailers to make sure you have great cell service when you need it. According to WilsonPro this will even work in tents!

Basic installation

Installation couldn’t be easier and you should be up and running within 30 minutes. Here’s a visual guide:

1. Install the outdoor antenna outdoors

This is the outdoor antenna. Attach it to the tripod and attach one of the cables to it. In general, the antenna should be pointed to the closest cell tower. If you’re not sure, you can re-aim later to see if you can get better signal. It doesn’t have to be a perfect aim, just within the same general direction.

2. Install the indoor antenna indoors

This is the indoor antenna. Put it on the tripod and point it away from the outdoor antenna. Connect the other cable to it.

3. Connect both cables to the base unit

The cables connect to the top of the base unit. The unit is labeled to show you which cable to put where.

4. Plug it in and power it on

Connect the base unit to power and turn it on. After it powers up you’ll see the status screen:

What you really want to see is all green or yellow on the screen. Green means everything is fine. Yellow means that you’re getting some boost but not as much as you could. Red means that the booster isn’t providing any boost.

To get all green and yellow lights, reposition the antenna and move the two antennas as far as possible from each other. Make sure the antennas don’t face each other, and if possible they should be 35-50 feet from each other.

This booster kit is perfect for…

Imagine setting up a field hospital or command center in an area affected by weather or a medical emergency. Imagine if you were tasked with creating a communications center, after a fire or flood. The closest cell tower may be miles away, and regular cell service may go in and out. With this system, incoming cell signals are amplified by over 100,000 times. Outgoing cell signals get a massive boost too. The Wilson Pro 1000C is one of the most powerful boosters on the market and it’s designed for mission-critical applications with dozens of users. When you put it in an area with even the weakest cell service, you’ll get great results.

Don’t forget that this booster works on all carriers, for voice and data. It’s 2020, folks, and communication doesn’t just mean voice calls. You’ll get fast data connections and that means clear video calls, reliable browsing, and the download speeds you need to stay apprised of critical information as it’s coming in.
