Before you head out to the beach…. there are a few chores

All over the country, kids are finishing up school and families are scooting to beaches and amusement parks for the yearly vacation. Before you go, there’s a small matter of the chores you promised to do at the beginning of the spring.

Yeah, I noticed. You put it off.

Grounding
Every year you say you’re going to ground that antenna. And you don’t. Listen, if you don’t ground that metal stuff on your roof, you’re just asking for it. You know how you watch TV and see all that severe weather out there? You could be next. One hundred feet of green wire and a spike could be the difference between you keeping your home and… well, total loss. Why not finally do it? Shop for grounding supplies now at Solid Signal.

Check for water damage
Unless you live in the desert southwest, it’s rained since March. If you’re in the parts of the country where it snows, there’s been melting and even probably a little more refreezing. All that water does a number on all your connections out there. Take a look and if you see any corrosion… just replace them. It’s not such a big deal, just do it! And if you do live in the desert, well look for sand damage. You didn’t think you were going to get away that easy, did you? Shop for cables now at Solid Signal.

[i]How’s your internet?
Seriously, what would happen if your internet went down? Check the quality of your line by running ten speed tests in a row (I use speedtest.net, but there are other sites.) If things don’t look consistent, it could be time for a new router. While you’re at it, how about a new access point or repeater? Shop for data and networking products now at Solid Signal.

The bottom line is, you’ll feel better when you know those chores are done, and your family will too! And as for me, I’ll move onto nagging the next guy. Fair enough?
