How can you get discounts on DIRECTV?

TOPICS:

Everyone loves a good discount, right? But there are so many dead ends on the internet. You’ll need a guide to getting the discounts you want without the hassle you don’t want.

Where not to look

Folks, I’m not a big fan of “coupon codes.” Yes, I use them and I bet you do too. But I only use them when I have a lot of extra time to spend. The internet never forgets, and I’ve found that about 90% of the codes out there are expired. Yes, there are sites where people say they “just used the code” but… I don’t know. Either they are lying or there’s some other explanation.

I’m also not a big fan of telling the person on the other side of the phone line that you’re going to cancel. A long time ago, this was a guaranteed way to get to DIRECTV’s Retention department where they would ply you with all sorts of free offers. Look, I’ll be straight with you. This doesn’t work. DIRECTV doesn’t even have a Retention department anymore. If you call and say you want to cancel, there’s an excellent chance that they’ll cancel your account and wave goodbye to you. Pay TV companies in general have really come under fire for making it hard to cancel. The smart ones have really revamped their procedures and now make it very easy to cancel.

Finally, I would not give away your private information on any web site, period. There are places online that will supposedly offer you the best discounts but you have to put in a lot of info before they do.

Where you should look

Hey, I know this is going to seem really old-school but the best way to get the discounts you want is to call. Signal Connect is a DIRECTV dealer specializing in providing the best customer service. We know that the call center can be a maddening, disappointing experience. That’s why we work hard to get you to the right person as soon as possible in the process. Once you’re connected with an expert, they can go through all the options. You can bundle your internet service or cell service, or both! Get discounts based on where you work or what you do. There are programs for government employees, first responders, and even veterans.

And yes, I know that calling anywhere seems a little “20th century.” It’s done to keep your personal information secure. We ask for as little information as we possibly can. We will need your DIRECTV account number or some other way to identify you, in case you do decide to move forward. The thing is, we don’t want to worry about any fraudulent use of your account. The information you give us is put into the same AT&T systems where it already is. There’s no additional risk of hacking or snooping.

So, give us a call at 888-233-7563 and we’ll get started. We ask that you call during East Coast office hours because that’s when the experts work. Personally I never call anywhere in the middle of the night because it’s a guarantee that I’ll get an overseas call center. I hate those as much as you do. There’s no obligation of course and you can spend as little or as much time as you like.
