Unlike other HDMI cables, Redmere cables are directional. Redmere technology lets you run a 50-foot-long HDMI cable that’s as thin as your cell phone cable, but there is one little twist: You have to know how to hook it up.
As you see in the picture, one end of a Redmere cable has a logo silk-screened on the connector. The other doesn’t. The end with the logo connects to the TV. It’s that simple. If you connect the cable backwards, it doesn’t work. It won’t harm the cable, it just won’t work.
