THROWBACK THURSDAY: Signal Installs

Ever heard of Signal Installs? Sure you have. You just might be familiar with it as Signal Connect. Signal Installs was the original name of our full-service division, starting in 2010. We even had a snazzy (by 2010 standards) web site:

You can view a mostly-working live version of the site as it looked back then by checking out the Internet Archive. There are a few missing photos but it’s remarkably intact for something so old. Just be patient, as the Internet Archive isn’t as fast as the “real” internet.

OK, so it looks a little dated now. I get it. But you still get a clear message here: We’re here to take care of our customers, no matter where they are. That part hasn’t changed at all.

One brief shining moment

As a name, Signal Installs didn’t last long. Why? Because we do so much more than install. From the very beginning, it was clear that we connected people. We connected with our customers and connected them to the best entertainment options. We even offered “connectivity” through cellular and satellite. The word “installs” didn’t even come close to explaining who we really are. We set out to rebrand ourselves almost immediately.

So, choosing a new name was a slam dunk. In fact, the new name was pretty clear. We changed over to Signal Connect, but at first there wasn’t much new about the web site otherwise. A few years later we updated the web site to reflect the updated level of service. And today, of course, you can contact Signal Connect here or at https://www.signalconnect.com… it’s your decision. We’re all part of one big happy Signal Group, and we make sure that you’re our priority no matter how you contact us.

There’s one constant in the world, so they say, and that’s change. As the world has changed, Signal Connect has kept improving and growing. We kept accumulating awards, leading up to our 21-22 Commercial DIRECTV Dealer of the Year award, the most prestigious honor in the DIRECTV world. It’s not prestigious because it’s a hunk of glass. (Although, it is a hunk of glass.) It’s prestigious because it’s given to the dealer who does the best job serving their customers. So really, it’s not about us, it’s about you.
