Solid Signal is a DISH Premier Local Retailer. What does that mean?

You might have noticed the graphic at the top of this article. I’ve put it at the top of several articles on this blog in the last few months. It’s something I’m very proud of. We have been awarded DISH’s Premier Local Retailer status and trust me, that’s a big deal. How big a deal? I thought I’d explain

What is a Premier Local Retailer?

Only about 10% of DISH dealers reach Premier Local Retailer Status. It’s not just the number of accounts that a dealer gets. In fact, that’s only a small part of it. It’s about how a dealer takes care of those accounts. In order to be a Premier Local Retailer, you need to offer all the services DISH offers, from satellite TV to streaming to smart home and more. You need to have experts on site who can answer customer questions. You can’t just be one of those people walking around the mall stopping people to try to sell pay TV. (Do those still exist? Like you, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a mall.)

Yeah but isn’t Solid Signal a DIRECTV dealer?

Yes, we are, and we’re one of the largest ones in the country. We’ve been given award after award for our excellent service to our DIRECTV customers. Solid Signal has even earned the Dealer of the Year award from DIRECTV.

However, we’ve been DISH dealers for over 12 years as well. We have a long history of helping residential, RV, marine, and institutional customers with DISH satellite TV and other services from DISH. We’ve been right there every step of the way as DISH released new hardware and services.

When it comes to our customers, our goal is to help you get the right service for you. Is that satellite TV? Is that internet-based TV? Should it be DISH or DIRECTV? That answer is going to be different for different people. We try to make sure that when you ask us what to get, we’ll give you the right answer.

Will Solid Signal switch me from DISH to DIRECTV, or from DIRECTV to DISH?

Let me say this up front: We will never switch your service without letting you know about it. Some of our commercial customers give us permission to manage their billing, but we would never make a change like that without discussing. It’s actually against both DISH and DIRECTV rules.

If you do want to talk about switching from one service to the other, we are happy to lay out the benefits of each and show you the costs. We’ll let you make your own decision. Part of being a DISH Premier Local Retailer and a DIRECTV Dealer of the Year is that we want our customers to have the best service for their needs. Those needs are going to vary from person to person. That’s why we represent a variety of services.
