TIP: 9 of your favorite DIRECTV Channels… at your fingertips with QuickTune

If you’re like most people you watch about nine channels all the time. Sure, you’ll browse the guide from time to time but most folks can pick nine favorites. Take out the major networks — you know what channel they’re on — and imagine if your nine favorite national channels were just a button push away.

If you have DIRECTV service, they are, and you already have the technology. It’s called QuickTune and it’s already on your receiver or DVR. Just press the up arrow on your remote and you’ll see an empty menu of channels just ready for you to fill it. Press the Green or Enter Button to add the channel you’re watching to that list and you’ll see its icon appear. The next time you want to tune to that channel, press the up arrow, arrow over to the channel you want and press SELECT. It’s really simple!

You can pick any nine channels and you can change them anytime. While most of DIRECTV’s improvements are really tied to the DVR experience, this one is more designed for live TV. If it’s 8:00 and you want to watch Cupcake Wars, you don’t need to remember the channel number or surf through thousands of channels to find it. Put the Food Network in your QuickTune and go there fast!
